Role Overview
As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you'll play a crucial role in managing and delivering environmental projects with a primary focus on contaminated land investigations. This is a varied role that includes fieldwork, technical report writing, project management, and client communication. You will also mentor junior staff and ensure project quality standards are met, supporting a positive, high-performing team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare health and safety documentation and project plans for field and office-based investigations, adhering to high safety and environmental standards.
- Conduct site inspections, data collection, and analysis to evaluate and manage project requirements.
- Lead fieldwork independently on contaminated land projects, including soil and groundwater sampling.
- Prepare technical reports such as site inspection reports, environmental management plans, and remediation action plans.
- Oversee project logistics, manage budgets, liaise with clients, and coordinate with subcontractors.
- Support junior staff in understanding and implementing safety and quality standards in field and office work.
- Engage with industry professionals and stay up to date with developments, attending industry events as necessary.
- Provide training in technical skills, safety, and protocols to junior consultants across all business units.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in a similar role within environmental consulting.
- Proven experience in contaminated land projects, including strong skills in fieldwork, data management, and technical report writing.
- Knowledge of regulatory health and safety standards
- Asbestos assessor license highly regarded.
- Strong project management and client communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A current driver's license and flexibility for occasional travel within Australia or overseas as required.
