Senior Structural Engineer One of the Best consultancies in Illawarra region Very friendly open-door policies WFH or office arrangements Above market salary $160k (depending on experience) This consultancy will look great on your CV We are seeking an accomplished Senior Structural Engineer to join an established consultancy in Wollongong. This hands‑on role involves both permanent and temporary works design, embedded within a supportive yet ambitious team. What you will do Deliver technically excellent structural design solutions in line with client briefs, program, and budget. Lead the preparation of construction drawings, reports and detailing using industry-standard software. Identify and resolve design and construction challenges using proactive judgement and innovation. Provide senior oversight of project delivery: manage scope, deliverables, quality, timelines, and cost outcomes. Mentor intermediate and junior engineers, providing guidance, review, and professional development. Contribute to tender preparation and business development: assist with scopes, fee proposals, budgets, and client engagement. Maintain regular interaction with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to sustain relationships and advance opportunities. What we’re looking for A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum 8 years’ experience in structural engineering design, preferably in buildings (mid- to high‑rise), commercial, multi‑purpose developments. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status desirable, or working towards. Proven expertise with structural design software (e.g., Spacegass, Inducta SLABS, RC Building, Structural Toolkit or similar) and strong understanding of Australian Standards and structural principles. Experience in temporary works design would be a strong advantage. Excellent time‑management skills, commercial awareness, ability to work independently and within a team. A passion for leadership, team development and continuous improvement.
