As a Communications Officer, you'll play a key role in a 24 / 7 operational environment, providing high-quality customer service to the people of NSW and our internal stakeholders. You'll be the first point of contact for enquiries and requests for assistance, using a range of communication systems to log, update, and manage information in real time. About the NSW SES Our Mission : NSW SES saving lives and creating safer communities. Learn more here About you To be successful in this role you will : Be available to complete the initial training which consists of a 2‑week full‑time course followed by hour shifts scheduled within the following 2‑week period. The training includes two mandatory assessments, is fully paid and will commence on Monday 27 October in the NSW SES State Headquarters in Wollongong. Have excellent computer skills including the ability to touch type (with speed and accuracy) and be able to demonstrate competence with Windows‑based computer applications. Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Be able to work independently and as part of a team in a time‑critical environment and high‑stress environment. Have the ability to think clearly, logically and remain calm in stressful situations. Possess organisational skills including efficient time management, an ability to prioritise tasks and work within defined procedures.
