Chief Medical Advisor CMA
vor 2 Stunden
Hey, I’m Alfredo, leading Legal and Governance at Updoc. Clinical excellence sits at the heart of everything we do and we’re looking for a Chief Medical Advisor who can help shape the next era of safe, modern, patient‑centred telehealth in Australia. Updoc is building the future of healthcare through technology that connects patients with doctors, medical professionals and pharmacies across the country. We operate at pace and at scale, which means clinical judgment, risk management and high‑trust medical leadership matter more than ever. This is a role for an experienced doctor who understands the realities of primary care, sees how telehealth is reshaping the landscape and wants to help design the clinical systems that support millions of Australians. About the role The CMA is one of our most important medical leadership positions. You’ll partner with our founders and senior leaders across product, engineering, operations and legal. Your work will guide how we practise safely, how we evolve our clinical model and how we continue setting the benchmark for responsible digital healthcare. You won’t be sitting on the sidelines. You’ll be shaping clinical standards, providing real‑time advisory support and influencing how our patients move through the system. You’ll also help us stay ahead of regulatory expectations and emerging risks as virtual care grows. At Updoc you’ll be: Providing clinical leadership across the company and advising internal teams on complex or ambiguous cases. Working with our in‑house teams and partner doctors to maintain safe and consistent clinical practice. Strengthening our clinical governance, risk frameworks and medical decision‑making systems. Reviewing and advising on clinical policies, patient safety protocols and telehealth‑specific risk factors. Taking preemptive steps to avoid clinical, legal or operational risks. Supporting leadership with evidence‑based recommendations on new products, clinical pathways and regulatory strategy. Helping educate the broader team so our decisions always reflect strong medical principles. Your first week You’ll set up at your own desk with a clear onboarding plan. Each day you’ll work through our clinical governance guide, medical safety frameworks and the systems that support our partner doctors. You’ll meet your buddy who will help you understand the people, processes and rhythms of the team. You’ll join leadership syncs to see how medical, legal, product, engineering and clinical operations work together. On Tuesday you’ll join our all‑hands and meet the broader team. By the end of the week you’ll have a strong grip on our model, our risks and the projects you’ll influence next. About you You’re an experienced medical practitioner with strong grounding in primary, emergency or rural care. You understand how clinical risk shows up in fast‑moving environments and know how to manage it calmly. You’re thoughtful, measured and able to give clear clinical guidance to non‑medical teams. You’re comfortable with ambiguity and capable of applying sound clinical principles in new contexts. You care about patient outcomes and the clinicians who deliver them. You’re collaborative and communicate in a way that builds trust. You’re excited about the future of telehealth and want to help shape it rather than react to it. Bonus points if you’ve held leadership roles before or contributed to clinical policy, governance or education. We’re not looking for a perfect CV. We’re looking for someone with strong judgment, deep care for patient safety and a desire to push the industry forward. Growth, support and culture At Updoc we back our leaders. You’ll work in an environment with psychological safety, high trust and high support. We move quickly, learn together and fix things as a team. Real ownership of medical governance and clinical standards. Support from legal, product, engineering and clinical operations to help you succeed. A culture that values curiosity, open dialogue and honest reflection. Space to influence one of Australia’s largest telehealth providers. We’re building a team that reflects the diversity of the patients we serve. If you’re from a background underrepresented in healthcare leadership, we’d especially love to meet you. What’s in it for you
