We are looking for a local Operator for our Esperance Terminal. This role is not a FIFO position. Job Description Reporting to the site coordinator, you will operate within the terminal, managing day‑to‑day operational support of product in and product out. This includes rail unloading, truck gantry loading, shipping support, maintenance inspections, quality checks, sampling and testing. Work occurs Monday to Friday with an on‑call roster for night/weekend relief; weekend work, overtime, and public holidays may be required. What you will do Ensure all health and safety critical processes are implemented and adhered to. Promote the culture of ‘Beyond Goal Zero’, showing visible leadership in health and safety activities. Conduct daily checks of gantry equipment and operational surveillance of the fuel farm. Supervise tanker drivers for gantry product loading, assist with inductions, assess competence and conduct vehicle inspections. Complete routine operational observations within the terminal (tank water draining, bund surveillance, gantry surveillance, pipeline and pump surveillance, fire system surveillance, and operational functionality testing). Assist maintenance works by reviewing contractor Job Hazard Analysis risk/hazard assessments. Raise incident reports, assist with investigations and identify remedial actions. Raise maintenance or inspection requests for equipment, if required. Qualifications Focused mindset towards health, safety, security and the environment. Trade qualified (preferred but not essential) in mechanical or instrument/electrical. Effective communicator able to work within teams. Positive and flexible attitude. Full driver’s licence. Familiarity (or willingness to learn) maintenance work order processes. You are able to complete the following employer‑provided training: Assessment and grant of a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC). Training to become a Shore Officer and Testing Officer.
