The Role: The CNC Gynaecological Oncology Provides clinical leadership and direction to improve the quality and continuity of care and support provided to clients diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer across the continuum of care. Provides a pivotal contact point for continuity of care for people diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer and supports the patient in navigating their complex cancer needs. The position provides authoritative clinical expert advice and supports and assists with coordinating the patient’s care from diagnosis through treatment and surgery and discharge from hospital back to the community and is an integral part of the interdisciplinary team throughout the patient’s medical care. Adapts practice providing advice, appropriate clinical interventions, and consumer advocacy according to the specific and changing needs of individuals, considering their multiple health concerns and preferences for care. Facilitates continuity of care between different phases of cancer care across different locations and providers. Working through Lead Clinicians: Provides a significant degree of autonomy and independent decision making to develop the service. Provides specialist advice at oncology team meetings to support patient care specific to cancer care. Supports pathway protocol and guideline development in collaboration with other experts in relation to cancer care consistent with gynaecological oncology care, with reference to cancer Australia optimal care pathway frameworks. You will need: Extensive experience as a registered nurse with demonstrated advanced competence in contemporary cancer care nursing, coordination, and management including extended practice skills in the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care of clients; and an awareness and understanding that ensures optimal patient care and care outcomes. Demated high level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; mediation and conflict resolution skills; and a proven ability to educate and influence a broad range of stakeholders including health professionals and consumers. Well-developed strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to effectively consult, refer, liaise, and negotiate on complex professional, clinical service and health systems issues. Details of appointment: Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
