Position of Leadership - Year 9 Learning & Wellbeing Leader De La Salle College (see more jobs from this school) MALVERN, VIC Head of Faculty / Department Contract Type: Permanent/Ongoing Position Full Time Applications Close: 27 November 2025 We have an exciting opportunity for a Position of Leadership as Year 9 Learning & Wellbeing Leader, commencing Term 1, 2026. This is a POL3.5 for three years, plus an ongoing teaching position. Remuneration will be based on experience, following the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA). De La Salle College is an integral part of the faith community of Malvern and Malvern East. Job Description: Your primary responsibilities will include: In collaboration with the Assistant Principal, Learning and Teaching and Learning Area Team Leaders, facilitate the design, development and implementation of a curriculum which is consistent with the overarching aims and mission of the College and Year 9 program in accordance with Victorian Curriculum standards; Support teachers with development of their skills and knowledge of inquiry and project-based education models, including the use of an appropriate repertoire of learning and teaching strategies. This is with a view to engendering innovative learning and teaching, with a focus on continual improvement in student learning outcomes; Work in collaboration with the Year 9 teaching staff and Data and Progression Leader to actively monitor student progress through Synergetic and the BASE; Guide and support staff and students to create a learning environment and culture that promotes student wellbeing and resilience; Set the professional standards for members of their team – supporting the performance and development of Class/House Mentors in coming to understand the intrinsic links between wellbeing and learning; Adhering to the school's Child Protection Policy and Child Safety Staff Code of Conduct; Complying with ongoing professional development requirements as per VIT guidelines; Actively engaging in internal and external professional development to enhance teaching practices; Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively engage students in their learning journey. Skills/Experience Required: Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification (Masters Degree an advantage) Experience in relevant educational leadership. Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration. A strong commitment to Catholic education. Ability to build and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Skills to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students. An eagerness to learn and grow in the field of education. Proficiency in implementing a differentiated curriculum and leveraging modern technology to support student learning. Special Requirements: At De La Salle College, the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children are paramount. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children. The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
