The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia .About the Position:With record-breaking investment in rail infrastructure and networks to support more livable and sustainable cities and communities across Australia, we’re expanding our team to meet the demands of our growing project portfolio.We are currently seeking a Principal Commissioning Engineer to provide technical support to the testing and commissioning activities of a multi-disciplined digital railway system project and coordinate the integration of the railway systems.Key responsibilities:Supporting the commissioning teams by providing technical expertise. Ensure that the test and commissioning activities are executed in alignment with the Work, Health and Safety requirements of the company and the project. Oversight of the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all Test Procedures. Technical review of all test documentation to ensure test coverage is robust and comprehensive. Ensuring the timely production of all Sub-System and System Test Plans, Procedures and Reports at the project level. Supporting site interface management with the Client/Engineers/Third parties during the test and commissioning phase. Supporting the Project Commissioning Managers with the coordination of site integration activities. Ensure test documentation complies with relevant standards. Ensure test specifications and procedures align with project requirements. Skills & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field 10+ years' experience in a similar role in the Rail Signal industry System Integration of complex systems Understanding how testing plays a role in supporting Systems Assurance activities Railway equipment and environment Use of Test tools Use of Database tools Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of ERP and Configuration Management tools At Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
