Clinical Manager – CASPAR/Youth Mental Health Initiative – South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Service Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (through to October 2026) Position Classification: Nurse Unit Manager Level 2, Occupational Therapist Level 5, Senior Clinical Psychologist, Senior Psychologist, Social Worker Level 5 Remuneration: $123,974.00 – $152,992.00 per annum, plus superannuation Hours per Week: 38 Requisition ID: REQ Location: Sydney Applications close date: 30 November 2025 About the Role A new and exciting Clinical Manager opportunity exists for an experienced mental clinician and manager to oversee and support the Comprehensive Assessment Service for Psychosis and At Risk (CASPAR) and Youth Mental Health initiative within SESLHD Mental Health Service. The CASPAR/Youth Mental Health Initiative service is a specialist multidisciplinary team providing high‑quality, evidence‑based assessments and needs‑driven intervention services to young people (12‑25 years) who are at risk of or experiencing mental health disorders. The clinical lead provides clinical and operational leadership coordinating resources and program services in collaboration with other internal and external specialist mental health services within SESLHD and with headspace lead agencies in Bondi Junction, Hurstville and Miranda. The team works with a broad range of clinical presentations, including young people with severe and complex anxiety and depression, emotional dysregulation, complex trauma, and those identified as at ultra‑high risk for psychosis. The position actively participates in the strategic development of the service, building the capacity of mental health services to engage young people early and provide a range of evidence‑based interventions that facilitate recovery. Selection Criteria For Allied Health: qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award. Social Worker eligible for membership of AASW or Occupational Therapist with current registration with AHPRA. Psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and a minimum of 8 years’ experience post full registration. For Clinical Psychologists: full registration with the PsyBA, with endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology and a minimum two‑year full‑time accredited Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology. Nurse Unit Manager, registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Proven clinical leadership and management experience and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in practice. Demonstrated advanced skill and experience in youth mental health assessment and treatment, including individual and family interventions, with an understanding of the contemporary theory and direction of youth mental health, particularly early intervention. Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by utilisation of evidence‑based research within a person‑centred framework. Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning, including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management and cultural change processes. Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching and the development of contemporary, specialty education programs. Demonstrated highly developed communication, interpersonal, influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Current NSW Driver’s licence with willingness to travel in accordance with the position.
