Orchard Manager

Sunland Fresh Fruit is a premium stonefruit producer located on the banks of the Murray River in Cobram and Barooga. We have a rich and proud history of success spanning over generations. We have an exciting position for a Trainee Orchard Manager . Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a hands on role which is responsible for supporting the day to day management and operation of the Orchard, which will include: Responsibilities Support day-to-day orchard operations to meet harvest demands. Manage work programs, including irrigation, monitoring, and logistics. Operate tractors for ground works and manage irrigation, fertiliser systems, equipment, and refer repairs to maintenance team. Provide recommendations and ensure infrastructure and machinery is inspected and maintained as per schedules. Operate machinery and plant as required Assist with supervising a diverse workforce, including directly employed and contract staff. Assist in preparing budgets and forecasting of crop estimates, harvest schedules, and annual inventories. Ensure adherence to WHS policies and regulatory requirements. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement using smart farming practices to advance efficiency and sustainability. Maintain Orchard records in line with organisational and compliance requirements Qualifications Proven experience managing farm operations, including crop production, irrigation, and pest control and fertiliser use Excellent organisational and planning skills to manage schedules, budgets, and multiple priorities Strong communication skills for team collaboration, reporting, and liaising with management Demonstrated knowledge of the agricultural industry with an understanding of the products, seasonal timings and general requirements of rural producers A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines and safe operation of irrigation systems How to Apply Interested?
