About the role An exciting opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified Chaplain to join our team at our Caboolture Campus. The Arethusa College Chaplain will take on the role of leading the College community’s pastoral and wellbeing program by assisting the Principal with spiritual leadership and facilitating pastoral and wellbeing initiatives. The role of the Chaplain is to provide direction and programs that achieve our College aims, to create and encourage ‘Real Connections’, ‘Real Learning’ and ‘Real Futures’. The Campus Chaplain reports directly to the Campus Principal. Skills and experience Personal qualities, social and interpersonal skills. Live a personal relationship with Christ Demonstrate a strong Christian character Demonstrate a heart and commitment to valuing all people including the marginalised Be a practising member of the local church Be organised, well prepared and forward thinking Be highly adaptable and willing to be solution‑focused Have the ability to deal with conflict in proactive and supportive ways Be an effective communicator, who is able to listen to the needs of others Be effective at negotiating solutions which achieve set objectives, while best supporting the needs of all community members Have the ability to adapt and communicate effectively with a wide range of people (staff, students, external stakeholders, other agencies) Advocate for the needs of students, families and staff, ensuring that the best possible outcomes are sought for all members of the College community Set strategies for future development of the College Chaplaincy program and drive towards achieving the desired outcomes. Roles and responsibilities To assist the Principal lead the Christian direction and culture of the campus To provide pastoral care and critical incident response to support young people, school staff and families and liaise with community service organisations, agencies, specialist programs and health professionals To deliver wellbeing services and programmes, including social and emotional education within a multidisciplinary team with competence and professionalism To build rapport with a wide range of students specifically, as well as staff and the wider College community Administer tasks as designated by the Director of Culture & Wellbeing.
