The Department of Medicine at Mackay Base Hospital offers a permanent full‑time position (80 hrs p.f.) for a Staff Specialist Oncologist. Your Opportunity This position provides the chance to join a busy oncology unit staffed by medical oncologists, nurses and allied health professionals. You may take on a leadership role and further develop the existing oncology service, particularly in clinical research. About The Unit The oncology unit has three experienced part‑time medical oncologists, provides inpatient ward rounds, daily outpatient services (including telehealth) and has a day unit staffed by oncology nurses and pharmacists. Remuneration and Benefits Remuneration up to $528,464 p.a. inclusive of salary and incentives. Proof of specialist registration or membership with appropriate authority (e.g., Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Medical Oncology). Certified copies of required documents for criminal history and national police certificate checks. Vaccination Requirement Vaccination against vaccine‑preventable diseases is required.
