Red Appointments is partnering with Power and Water to recruit a Financial Officer for an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading utilities organisation and play a key role in financial governance, reporting, and systems management. You’ll act as the liaison between the Customer Service Centre and Financial Services business units, maintain financial structures across Revenue System and Oracle, and ensure processes are documented and continuously improved. The role also involves preparing month‑end accrual journals, reconciliations, and contributing to both internal and external reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities Liaise between revenue and collection team for timely and accurate recording of revenue and collection in financial system. Maintain and document financial structures and processes across RMS and Oracle with regular and month end closing processes. Support Finance team members and stakeholders to achieve outcomes and provide any ad‑hoc reports and queries management. Prepare month‑end accrual journals, reconciliations, and assist with audit requirements arrangements and external reporting. Ensure compliance with Power and Water’s safety, environmental, and quality policies. About You Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting in a complex corporate environment (utilities preferred). Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and instructions. Experience documenting and improving processes and procedures. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent time management and organisational skills. Experience preparing accrual journals, reconciliations, and contributing to annual reporting and audits. Knowledge of compliance and reporting in a commercial environment. Desirable Proficiency in advanced Excel spreadsheets. Experience maintaining revenue and debtors’ financials within systems ensuring controls. Understanding of utilities sector regulations and taxation. Previous corporate accounting experience.
