Vacancy for Metadata Innovator at Monash University Vacancy for Metadata Innovator at Monash University 21 November 2021 Clayton Campus $102,120 - $112,722 pa HEW Level 08 Full-Time Bring your experience to deliver the Library’s Metadata Strategy and support the Content and Collections Manager in the delivery of the Library’s operations and practice and manage the Library’s metadata creation, management and dissemination functions. As the Metadata Innovator you will manage a range of strategic and operational activities to create, reuse, share, and disseminate metadata relating to Library collections, the University’s research and researchers, and Monash identifiers. A key part of your role will be to ensure that metadata relating to content and collections supports discovery and access in global digital networks including Trove, WorldCat, ArXiv, and HathiTrust, VIAF and ISNI, and ensures specifications and relationships with local and international industry partners and suppliers of metadata support the Library’s strategic goals. You will explore and implement strategic and innovative solutions to maximise the impact and value of metadata for Monash researchers, identities and collections managed by the Library. Bringing your excellent skills in relationship building and communications you will engage with content providers, platforms, consortia, standards, and global initiatives on behalf of the Library to optimise and disseminate metadata that connects users to Monash content and collections, and enables enriched data-based services. With an ability to motivate and develop staff you will provide leadership to the Metadata Team and theResearch Output Collections Services (ROCS) team in the delivery of high-level and professional services and effective achievement of the Library’s priorities and provide expert advice at both strategic and operational levels.
