Practice Support Lawyer (Knowledge, Risk and Compliance) Fantastic opportunity for a lawyer keen to work in risk and compliance within a commercial law firm. Key role in shaping operational excellence Collaborative and supportive team Risk and Compliance focus Our client, a commercially focused law firm, seeks a proactive Practice Support Lawyer to join their engaging and collaborative team. Knowledge team This role reports to the Head of Risk Management and Compliance and provides a key role in shaping the firm’s operational excellence. Position Description You will contribute to the implementation and maintenance of quality management, risk management, and compliance systems. You will: Assist with implementing and maintaining quality and risk management systems aligned with ISO9001 and ISO31000 Assist in managing potential legal and commercial conflicts Advise lawyers on the application of Solicitors Conduct Rules and legal profession legislation Assist with new client intake processes including KYC and AML compliance Review and provide advice on client agreements and supplier contracts Assist with firm-wide governance, risk, and compliance matters, including privacy, data protection, and cyber security response plans Update and maintain policies, conduct internal audits, and deliver training to ensure exceptional client service Develop trusted and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders throughout the firm, including General Counsel, Ethics Committee members, partners, and staff Requirements 3+ years’ experience from a law firm or in-house legal team Experience reviewing and drafting contracts and advising on regulatory compliance, ideally within a law firm context Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and commercial acumen Strong analytical, research, and drafting skills Ability to collaborate seamlessly and build relationships with legal teams and colleagues across the firm, and work autonomously when required Proactive mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks of varying sizes and competing deadlines Contact For further information, please contact Alex Rees at or Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Full-time Job function: Legal Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia #J-18808-Ljbffr
