Join Our Team as an Industrial Relations Advisor (Temporary Full-Time) Position Number: PC0039Contract Duration: Until 08 November 2026Classification: Stream A – Level 5Roster: 9-day fortnightLocation: Mackay CBD Make a Real Impact in People & Culture We are seeking an experienced Industrial Relations Advisor to provide specialist advice and support across our People and Culture Program. This is a dynamic role that requires strong technical knowledge, stakeholder engagement skills, and a commitment to fostering positive workplace relations. As an Industrial Relations Advisor, you will: Provide expert advice on industrial relations and remuneration matters. Interpret and apply employment legislation, Awards, Certified Agreements, and the Industrial Relations Act. Engage in consultation with internal stakeholders and external parties, including unions. Support organisational change processes and ensure effective communication with employees. Assist managers and supervisors with implementing industrial instruments and resolving complex matters. Develop resources and deliver educational programs on industrial relations and risk mitigation. Contribute to policy development and process improvement. What We are Looking For Essential Experience in industrial relations functions and activities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, confidentiality, and discretion. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Experience working with Queensland industrial and employee relations legislation. Desirable Experience in local government or a similar sector. Familiarity with HRIS and contemporary HR practices.
