AWH is a dynamic organisation undergoing significant growth, including the development of new state of the art Emergency and Mental Health facilities.The OpportunityThe Vascular Surgeon is responsible for providing Vascular services for Albury Wodonga Health (AWH). The Unit provides assessment and treatment to patients of Albury Wodonga Health General Surgical Services. The Unit also provides direct responsibility to the Emergency Department surgical patients.Duties include:To provide Vascular Surgical services for Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) by direct provision of high quality patient care and through direction, supervision and support of other team members.Participate in the Acute Surgical Unit in hours and out of hours on call service as rostered.Conduct outpatient sessions and operating theatre/procedural lists as determined by the Clinical Director of SurgeryProvide consultation services to patients of the Emergency Department on referral.Provide supervision, support and training of medical students, junior medical officers and registrars, participating in informal and formal term assessments of junior staff as required by the Clinical Director of Surgery and in support of Term Supervisors however titled.Use Clinical Support Time (if allocated) to support a portfolio of research, education, training, clinical governance or innovation as agreed by the Clinical Director of SurgeryRole Capacity:

Mandatory : A primary medical qualification which permits registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and a recognised Fellowship which permits Specialist level registration, or Eligible for Specialists Area of NeedAPHRA registration.Mandatory : Equivalent Vascular Specialist Qualifications recognised by RACS.Mandatory : Significant experience in Vascular Surgical practice.Mandatory : Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to clinical quality improvement and peer review.Mandatory : Able to obtain Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme Prescriber number.
