Group Sourcing and Procurement Manager

$240 - $260,000 per year + generous expat benefits Our client is the largest snack food producer in Papua New Guinea with over 960 employees serving a country with over 10.8 million people, with 90 years of operation and 100% PNG owned- formerly the original Arnotts biscuit factory network in Port Moresby and Lae it has grown to be an iconic brand, extending to ice cream, chocolate and bottled water production facilities and has a well-established history of drawing innovative experienced and qualified technical talent from around the world. Based in Port Moresby or Lae as the Group Sourcing and Procurement Manager, and as a key member of the Executive Leadership team at Paradise Foods, and reporting to the CEO - we require a leader who knows how to build a high performing team who can quickly drive cost reduction opportunities across the organization - you will play the strategic leadership role in managing the procurement and sourcing function (5 sites on the mainland and surrounding Islands), developing a continuous improvement program and ecosystems bringing together multiple parties to solve common problems to achieve world class performance in strategic procurement and sourcing activities. In addition, key elements included in this newly created role: Strong collaboration with R&D and Technical functions to source new raw materials and suppliers and facilitate product innovation to achieve competitive advantage Experience in the food production industry is important but what is more critical is an understanding of manufacturing challenges on raw material specifications and performance Ideally you will have also managed purchased logistics services The role is broad, encompassing direct and indirect spend including but not limited to engineering and office spend. Critical to success in this role is a specialist approach to appreciating the unique challenges faced by the business in the supply of product to customers (wholesalers and retail businesses) from a geographic, weather and infrastructure perspective. Of equal importance is contributing to an accurate and reliable monthly forecasting plan required by manufacturing - driving a reliable, robust monthly Sales and Operational Planning Cycle. To be considered for this role you must possess tertiary qualifications in Procurement and strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and supplier reviews - preferably with post graduate qualifications in a related field, CPIM or CSCP certificates would be highly regarded. You will come to the business with 10 years + senior executive experience with a proven track record of high performance, as a professional with the highest integrity and standards - from an FMCG Food related business.
