Koomba Bidi is currently seeking an experienced Senior Plant & Equipment Coordinator to lead our equipment hire department. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient management, maintenance, and logistics of our internal fleet and hired assets. This is a full-time, hands‑on role with an immediate start for the right candidate ready to make an impact. Key Responsibilities Oversee scheduling, mobilisation & demobilisation of equipment across multiple projects. Maintain an up‑to‑date asset register including service history, hours, compliance documentation and location. Coordinate repairs, maintenance and inspections in line with manufacturer and regulatory requirements. Ensure all equipment meets site and client compliance standards before deployment. Liaise with suppliers, mechanics and service providers to ensure timely maintenance and repairs. Monitor fuel usage, wear‑and‑tear and operating costs to identify efficiency opportunities. Coordinate internal and external equipment hire arrangements, ensuring cost‑effective utilisation. Review and negotiate supplier and hire agreements to reduce operational costs. Ensure compliance with all statutory and client requirements for plant registration, licensing and inspection. Support HSEQ audits and implement corrective actions for any identified non‑conformance. Prepare and manage plant budgets and forecasts. Track and report on asset utilisation, downtime and maintenance costs. Support project teams with cost allocation and charge‑out rate management. Liaise with project supervisors to forecast equipment availability & requirements. Identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency, reduce downtime and enhance asset reliability. Role Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience in plant and equipment coordination or management (civil, mining or construction). Mechanical aptitude and understanding of earthmoving and heavy plant operations. Strong knowledge of maintenance systems and asset management processes. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and asset management software. Current driver's licence and white card. Full Australian work rights. Highly desirable Trade qualification (mechanical, diesel fitting or related field). Experience working within Indigenous‑owned or community‑based organisations.
