As part of our collaboration with BMW Group Australia, NextGen Jobs is delighted to offer multiple #NextTech Automotive Apprenticeships across multiple disciplines. We are recruiting for the next generation of Light Vehicle Automotive Technicians, Automotive Parts Interpreters, Body Repair Technicians and Body Assembler Technicians across Greater Melbourne. Candidates that have recently completed their VCE or VCE VM or are recent high school leavers are encouraged to apply. Light Vehicle Automotive Apprentices will: Minor servicing of light vehicles Assisting technicians where necessary Cleaning working areas Operating electrical test equipment Follow safe working practices in an automotive environment Use and maintain tools and equipment specific to BMW standards Identify automotive electrical systems and components Automotive Parts Interpreter Apprentices will: Deliver outstanding customer service at all times Process customer enquiries and complaints promptly Identify parts and components of various vehicles Stock control and storage management processes Conducting transactions via phone, online and face-to-face Automotive Body Repair Technicians / Automotive Body Assembler Technicians will: Assist in examining damaged vehicles and estimate repair costs Assist automotive collision technicians with removal of upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window-and-seat-operating equipment. Assist body techs with removal of damage fenders, panels, and grills using wrenches and cutting torch. Bolt or weld replacement parts in position, using wrenches or welding equipment. File, grind and sand repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools. BMW #NextTech is an accelerated 3‑year apprenticeship with BMW dedicated trade school classes. Trade school classes will be held in Melbourne, Victoria at the Automotive Centre of Excellence. We are on the lookout for individuals who are passionate about starting their career as an automotive apprentice and working towards becoming a BMW Master Technician. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to fast‑track their apprenticeship, gain additional training through BMW specific manufacturers training and develop specialised skills that would be recognised across the world.
