Financial Accountant

As a Finance and Tax Accountant (12 month contract), you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
You will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data, and managing tax-related matters.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in finance and taxation.
Responsibilities: Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.Assist in tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize efficiency.Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.Develop financial models and forecasts to support business planning and decision-making processes.Provide insights into financial performance and contribute to strategic initiatives.Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted expectations and provide variance analysis.Recommend adjustments to budget assumptions based on financial trends and business conditions.Internal Controls:
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains in financial operations.Collaborate with internal audit teams to assess and address control deficiencies.Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, accounting, legal, and operations, to support business initiatives and resolve financial issues.Serve as a subject matter expert on finance and tax matters, providing guidance and support to colleagues as needed.Leadership:
Manage between 1-3 Junior accountants.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.Proven experience as a finance or tax accountant.Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to stakeholders at all levels.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.High ethical standards and commitment to integrity in financial practices.How to Apply: Email your resume to Courteney Hicks - or phone directly on for a Private and Confidential discussion.
