Standby Security Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker – Community Safety & Victim Services to join our team in Geelong. This role involves providing trauma-informed support to individuals and families affected by crime, critical incidents, and safety risks, while working closely with security teams and community agencies to improve client wellbeing and public safety outcomes. About the Role Position Title: Family Support Worker Employer: Standby Security Pty Ltd Location: 400 Latrobe Terrace, Geelong, Victoria Employment Type: Part-Time/Full-Time Salary Range: $30-38 per annum (pro rata, plus superannuation) Key Responsibilities Conduct client safety and needs assessments in office and community settings. Provide post-incident emotional and practical support to victims of crime, domestic violence, or trauma with their Case workers and family. Assist with case management, support planning, and coordination of services. Liaise with social workers, and healthcare providers to ensure appropriate referrals and interventions if needed and provide immediate support. Connect clients to security and community resources, such as personal safety devices, duress alarms, CCTV and Alarm system support. Advocate for client rights within the justice and social care systems especially around safety and wellbeing. Maintain accurate case notes, incident reports, and safety plans in line with professional standards. Support clients with use of Personal safety devices and security systems and provide response when needed. Conduct safety audits to ensure and suggest support needed for the client and areas of vulnerability in homes/safety houses/workplaces and their daily lives. Produce necessary awareness materials and update social platforms of the Organisation for marketing and awareness purposes. Market and advocate the safety and security services of the Organisation and provide suggestions to clients of their security needs. Skills & Experience Required Diploma in Community Services (or equivalent qualification). Minimum 5 years’ experience in family support, community safety, or victim assistance roles including and not limited to experience in marketing or public relations or similar. Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, victim support, and safeguarding frameworks. Experience collaborating with police, courts, social services, and NDIS providers. Excellent communication, cultural competency, and documentation skills. Familiarity with security protocols and working in high-pressure environments How to Apply?
