Principal Electrical Engineer

We’re seeking a highly experienced Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer to join our electrical engineering team in the APAC region. You will join an established engineering team with diverse expertise, including Electrical, Mechanical, and Control Systems. A strong pipeline of projects across the APAC region, including hybrid and complex projects, has promoted significant team growth over the past 12 months. Responsibilities Lead and Mentor : Guide and develop the electrical engineering team, ensuring alignment with project goals and company standards. Design and Engineering : Be part of the detailed design and implementation of electrical systems for mining and power generation projects, ensuring compliance with Australian standards. Project Leadership : Manage electrical engineering aspects of projects from concept through commissioning, collaborating with other disciplines and stakeholders. Simulation and Analysis : Utilise tools like PowerFactory and CDEGS to model and optimise electrical systems, ensuring robust performance. Safety Compliance : Implement safety standards and risk management practices to ensure all designs and installations are secure and compliant. Client Engagement : Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, delivering technical presentations and reports. Qualifications Educational Background : Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master\'s degree or Chartered Professional Engineer certification is preferred. Experience : Minimum of 10 years in electrical design for mining and power generation, with a strong understanding of Australian standards. Technical Expertise : Proficiency in HV substation design, earthing studies, and simulation tools like PowerFactory and CDEGS. Leadership : Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage team dynamics and stakeholder expectations. Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Communication : Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with clients and stakeholders.
