In this role, you will lead and drive First Nations engagement strategies and approaches that recognise First Nations Peoples' interests and foster the development of sustainable relationships. You will also provide high‑level advice to the business on cultural heritage management and effectively manage heritage (Indigenous and non‑Indigenous) risks on Powerlink projects throughout all phases of asset life. This includes managing the resolution of any cultural heritage issues to support the timely delivery of Powerlink projects and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. You will lead, develop and implement relevant First Nations and heritage management strategies and standards in collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the business and with external stakeholders, supporting the organisation's social performance. In addition, you will identify partnership opportunities with First Nations communities that align with Powerlink's Reconciliation Action Plan. You will maintain strong relationships with government bodies and other key stakeholders to inform and influence policy and other relevant changes, ensuring Powerlink continues to operate in a culturally responsive and future‑focused way. What you'll bring: You have a demonstrated ability to develop and implement cultural heritage management strategies that balance the needs of stakeholder groups and comply with legislative requirements. This is supported by your demonstrated understanding and ability to apply knowledge of Federal and State legislation, such as the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act (Qld) 2003 and the Native Title Act. You also bring a demonstrated ability to provide expert advice to stakeholders on a diverse range of cultural heritage, Native Title and landholder issues. Complementing this is your demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with Aboriginal Parties and government departments, as well as your ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with landholders, community groups and Traditional Owners. Additionally, you have a demonstrated ability to establish and manage cultural heritage and engagement activities for linear infrastructure or similar developments, ensuring culturally responsive, compliant and effective project outcomes. Bachelor's degree level qualifications in archaeology, anthropology, social sciences or environmental science or another relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
