In the role of Senior Planner, you will participate and contribute to the delivery of major multi-modal planning projects. The Major Planning Projects team typically delivers projects using the Project Assessment Framework (PAF). PAF is a whole-ofgovernment project assessment process that establishes a common approach to assessing projects at critical stages in their lifecycle. Its aim is to maximise the benefits returned to government from project investments. In TMR, the PAF is to be utilised for projects with a value over $100 million and / or projects that have a high level of risk and complexity.You will work with a team of transport planners and engineers that are delivering major planning projects. In this role you will provide support to the Manager (Major Planning Projects) and develop partnerships with key stakeholders to successfully deliver high-priority planning projects.

Some of your responsibilities will include:• Support, and lead components of, the delivery of major planning projects ensuring that all projects are undertaken in a multi-modal, integrated, affordable and value for money context.• Provide advice and input on transport issues and opportunities in relation to public and active transport, road network and freight requirements.• Undertake various project management activities associated with major planning projects including project scope, budget, schedule, risks and benefits.• Undertake research and analysis to inform TMR transport planning activities.• Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with other agencies, key partners and stakeholders relating to major project and program activities.• Draft ministerial correspondence, project reports, presentations, briefing notes, submissions, and other general correspondence.About you:We recognise and celebrate that everyone is unique and seek the applicant best suited to the role. To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:Mandatory qualifications and conditions:• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.Requirements of the role:• A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline such as town planning, transport planning, civil engineering, or a related discipline would be highly desirable.• Experience in one or more of the following areas: transport planning, project management and stakeholder engagement.• Proven experience in building relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.• Demonstrated experience working in a high-performing team environment.• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Further information
