About the Role This is a maximum-term position to provide parental leave coverage. Reporting to the Regional Financial Controller Australasia, and working closely with the Senior Accountant – Corporate, you will play a key role in the delivery of statutory reporting, audit support, working capital management, leases, budgeting, forecasting and technical accounting across the organisation. You will be part of a high-performing corporate accounting subgroup within Shared Services and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance function. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and finalisation of statutory accounts across multiple legal entities. Support the consolidated statutory reporting schedule. Liaise with internal teams to ensure all reporting deadlines are met. Act as a primary contact for external auditors across Australia, NZ, and PNG. Coordinate audit deliverables and monitor progress. Support planning, coordination, and documentation requirements for internal audits. Prepare weekly working capital forecasts and reporting templates. Support budgeting cycles, glide-path processes, and year-end planning. Manage lease accounting responsibilities, including reconciliations and disclosures. Provide technical accounting assistance on complex or non-routine transactions. Prepare journals for rent, incentives, amortisation, and other balance sheet activities. Assist with budgeting for occupancy-related costs. Prepare full sets of statutory financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow Statement, and detailed Notes to the Accounts, in accordance with IFRS. Conduct end-to-end IFRS 16 lease accounting, including initial recognition, monthly ROU asset and lease liability calculations, interest unwind, remeasurements, and disclosures. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes and enhance financial efficiency. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, preferred. CPA/CA qualification (or progress toward). Demonstrated experience preparing full statutory financial statements for one or more entities under IFRS. Hands‑on, practical experience with IFRS 16 (initial recognition, ongoing measurement, remeasurement, and disclosure requirements). Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience, ideally within a multinational or complex organisational environment. Strong knowledge of IFRS. Proven experience with statutory reporting, audits, and internal controls. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
