TSS ENGINEERINGTSS Engineering is a rapidly growing business that offers world-class fabrication, welding, and construction services. We design and fabricate an array of reliable engineering products and components to the highest quality standards/specifications. We are looking for a full-time, permanent skilled and experienced Welder (First Class) to join our highly skilled and innovative team.

We require a professional and experienced Welder to perform welding work. The preferred candidate will have relevant previous experience as a trade qualified welder and ideally have previously worked in engineering/manufacturing businesses. You will be capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabricating the dimensions and shapes as detailed. You will liaise with the design team during fabrication detailing to ensure the items are capable of efficient manufacture.

The job requires you to be physically fit and able to work towards daily production targets. There is a great opportunity here for the right person to show their capabilities and grow. Neat, accurate work and an eye for detail are essential. This is a full-time position and is available for an immediate start.

You can work unsupervised, as well as in a workshop environment and in a safe manner. You will be able to prioritize jobs, self-motivate, work independently, and as a team.

Minimum Requirements:

At least Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or at least 3 years work experience

Experience with Structural and mechanical works including steelworks and plate works - Stainless Steel and mild steel fabrication

Responsibilities:In this role, your main responsibilities include:

Examining work for defects and measuring with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications

Setting up and operating hand and power tools common to the welding trade such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment, grinders, and carbon rod gauging

Liaising with the sales team to prioritize daily orders, stock control, and product requirements

Welding and processing of mild steel, stainless as well as doing fabrication as required

Create quality welds according to blueprints

Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel parts

Use measuring instruments to accurately align material

Inspect welds for accuracy

Perform key measurements and visual checks

Dress finished products by cleaning, polishing, and filing

De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture

Follow, create, and help maintain Welding Procedure Specifications

Ensure all equipment is properly set up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use

Assemble items as instructed by the floor supervisor

Follow all safety rules and quality standards

Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency

To be considered for this role, you must have:

Structural welding and fabrication experience

A solid technical and mechanical aptitude

Ability to read and interpret drawings

Strict compliance with company policies and procedures

Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements

Able to work unsupervised

Good hand-eye coordination

Physical and mental endurance

Excellent fabrication and welding skills

Understanding of Workplace health and safety procedures
