Position Details Usher to Judge / Case Management Officer / Court Appointed Officer / Associate to Judge – Salary: Level 1 $65,728–$74,951; Level 2 $76,912–$82,464; Level 3 $86,439–$92,795 plus 12% superannuation. Work type: Casual, Fixed Term – Full Time. Location: Perth CBD. Position number: Pool Ref TER‑UCA‑25. Closing date: 30 PM (YYYY‑MM‑DD). Case Management Officer Responsibilities Entry‑level position managing civil, criminal and miscellaneous matters, providing high‑quality customer service and procedural advice to litigants, legal professionals and court staff. Review, data‑entry and processing of court documents. Manage case files using the Court’s electronic case‑management systems. Assist with hearings and respond to enquiries. Ensure documents presented for filing meet legislative requirements. Attend to customer queries in‑person and over the telephone. Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure compliance with legislation and policy. Court Appointed Officer Responsibilities Provide direction and assistance to children and other vulnerable witnesses. Assist and support Child Witness Service and Victim Support Service to meet witness needs. Operate CLOSED‑CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) and video‑conferencing equipment for witnesses. Provide administrative support to judges and registrars in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures. Operate AV system, document camera and initiate video links in remote rooms. Usher / Associate to Judge Responsibilities Provide operational, administrative and technical support to judges. Prepare files and liaise with parties to legal proceedings. Maintain decorum, organisation and efficient running of proceedings. Operate technical audio‑visual equipment in the courtroom. Prepare and organise files or other materials and documents for the judge. Contact parties on behalf of the judge. Perform statutory duties of the Clerk of Arraigns under the Criminal Procedure Act (WA) and the Bail Act (WA). Assist with jury empanelment process, read charges to the accused, assess applications for surety and witness bail undertakings. Give effect to the judge’s orders and record orders in the Court’s electronic case‑management system. Perform legal research, drafting summaries or other general administrative support as required. Eligibility and Requirements Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia (must be acquired before commencement at applicant’s expense). All employees required to undergo a National Criminal History check. Ability to learn to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures. Strong communicator with high computer literacy, keen eye for detail and willingness to learn. Flexibility for varied hours, travel to regional circuit locations and working shifts as required.
