Intertek is expanding its Sustainability & ESG capability across Australia and New Zealand, and we are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Consulting Practice Lead to build, localise and lead our growing consulting practice. This is a pivotal role responsible for delivering high-quality ESG, climate, human rights and sustainability advisory services, while shaping the frameworks, methodologies and operating model that will underpin one of Intertek’s fastest-growing practice areas. The ideal candidate is an experienced sustainability strategist and practitioner who thrives in both delivery and leadership, comfortable engaging with senior executives, collaborating with global SMEs, supporting business development, and architecting consulting solutions that deliver meaningful impact. The Opportunity As our Sustainability Consulting Practice Lead, you will: Lead and deliver sustainability, ESG and due diligence consulting projects, including ESG maturity assessments, ASRS readiness, carbon accounting and GHG verification support, human‑rights and modern‑slavery due diligence, responsible sourcing, and broader sustainability strategy. Scale and operationalise the Sustainability Consulting Practice for Australia and New Zealand, ensuring we maintain a robust and compliant Quality Management System and remain accreditation‑ready (ASQM 1 & ASQM 2, ASSA 5000, ISO 17029, ISO 14065 and emerging ESG assurance standards). Drive commercial growth by supporting Sales with SME expertise, shaping proposals, building a strong pipeline, and co‑delivering on strategic client engagements. Produce high‑quality sustainability insights, thought‑leadership content, webinars, white papers and presentations in partnership with our Marketing team. Strengthen cross‑functional collaboration across Business Assurance, Inlight, Testing and other Intertek service lines to deliver integrated value for clients. Build scalable methodologies, service templates and frameworks that enhance delivery excellence and commercial outcomes. Support workforce planning, capability development and future recruitment as the practice expands. About You You will bring strong technical capability across contemporary ESG, sustainability, climate and human‑rights frameworks, such as: UNGPs, OECD Guidelines, ILO Conventions, UN Global Compact GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, ISO 14067, TCFD, ISSB IFRS S1 & S2, ASRS, NGER GRI, SASB, CDP, ISO 26000, ISO 31000 Australian Modern Slavery Act and global due diligence expectations You also bring: Demonstrated experience delivering sustainability or ESG consulting projects end‑to‑end. Strong analytical, facilitation and stakeholder‑engagement skills. Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable client recommendations. Commercial acumen, with confidence shaping scopes of work, pricing, proposals and tenders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and thought‑leadership delivery.
