Location: Melbourne preferred; open to East Coast Australia Start Date: ASAP Permanent Position We are seeking a Junior Azure Cloud Engineer to join a growing cloud engineering function supporting a range of cloud modernisation and platform uplift initiatives. This role will contribute to the deployment, optimisation, and ongoing management of Azure PaaS and SaaS services across hybrid environments. Ideal candidates will have early‑career hands‑on experience in Azure, DevOps automation, and containerised platforms, with a strong interest in advancing their cloud engineering capabilities. Responsibilities Build, configure, and maintain Azure PaaS/SaaS services to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable cloud environments. Support Azure DevOps processes including CI/CD pipeline configuration, repository management, and automated deployments. Assist with implementing and managing Azure Arc for hybrid and multi‑cloud visibility, governance, and resource management. Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot containerised applications using Kubernetes (AKS). Investigate and resolve cloud service incidents to minimise downtime and improve system resilience. Contribute to infrastructure‑as‑code delivery and assist with environment builds and configuration. Collaborate with engineers, developers, and architects on project and operational activities. Adhere to cloud governance, security requirements, and operational controls. Requirements 2–3 years of experience in cloud engineering or cloud operations, with a focus on Azure PaaS/SaaS services. Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, git repos, IaC). Exposure to Azure Arc for hybrid or multi‑cloud environments. Working understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration. Scripting experience in PowerShell, Bash, or Python. Knowledge of cloud networking, identity, and security fundamentals. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities. Ability to work effectively within hybrid and cross‑functional teams. Experience in government or regulated environments. Familiarity with ARM/Bicep or Terraform. Experience with Azure Monitor or Log Analytics. Azure certifications (e.g., AZ‑900, AZ‑104). NV1 Security Clearance (highly desirable).
