About The Role AFLNT is seeking an energetic and values driven individual to facilitate and oversee AFL programs throughout First Nations communities in the Top End Region. All programs are designed to promote positive health, wellbeing, and social cohesion throughout First Nations communities. Focus areas for this role includes increasing AFL participation for women and girls, facilitating engaging and meaningful activities for youth. This role is responsible for planning and delivering targeted activities aligned to these focus areas through school and community-based AFL programs. This role is based in Darwin, with service delivery to First Nations communities throughout the Top End region, including the Darwin region, West Arnhem Land and the West Daly region. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to harnessing strong working relationships with Traditional Owners, schools and service providers, Government agencies and partner organisations. Please note this is a max-term position until approximately end of December 2026. Key Accountabilities Deliver targeted AFL programs, activities and health promotions across First Nations communities Embed consistent junior pathways including Auskick, Superkick and male/female competitions, and school holiday programs Deliver umpire and coaching accreditation courses Collaborate with partner organisations to maximise engagement and community impact Support regional AFLNT events, carnivals, competitions, and player pathways into the NTFL Manage a small casual workforce, including scheduling, budgeting, and development Maintain accurate participation data, required reporting, and manage AFLNT assets responsibly Our Ideal Team Member Strong ability to work independently, manage time, solve problems and meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport across diverse groups Able to work weekends and after hours, and ability to travel to First Nations communities (including driving un-sealed roads, travelling by ferry and by light aircraft).
