Role Overview Our Conservation Programs Heritage and Regulation team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Program Officer to support the delivery of biodiversity conservation programs across NSW. This role works closely with landholders and stakeholders to guide ecological assessments, develop conservation management plans and support the establishment of Biodiversity Stewardship Sites. You’ll be part of a collaborative team helping to protect and enhance biodiversity on private land. The role involves fieldwork, technical advice, mentorship and program coordination contributing to the Department’s broader goals of sustainable environmental management and heritage protection. Ongoing full‑time (35 hours per week) opportunity Tamworth Dubbo or Gunnedah preferred office location negotiable Salary relative to experience and ranges from $124,322 to $138,494 super About You You have experience working in conservation or environmental science and you’re confident conducting ecological assessments and engaging with landholders. You’re practical, reliable and able to manage projects and relationships with care and professionalism. You’re comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and you bring a clear, thoughtful approach to planning, problem‑solving and communication. A degree in environmental science or a related field, a current driver’s licence and willingness to travel on a regular basis are essential. Essential Requirements A degree in a relevant ecological or environmental science discipline. A valid Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel including overnight trips.
