About the Role: Join a national intelligence team where your expertise directly enhances the safety and security of Australia’s Immigration Detention Network. This role involves flexibility to be able to respond to any operational requirement with monthly and short notice travel requirements across Australia. Deliver timely, actionable intelligence that informs operational decisions and mitigates threats. The position demands intellectual curiosity, analytical thinking and the ability to challenge assumptions to drive strategic outcomes. You will be accountable for the accuracy and impact of intelligence products, trusted to handle sensitive security information, and expected to operate with independence, integrity and objectivity under pressure. Suited to professionals with backgrounds in law enforcement, correctional services, ADF or state and federal intelligence agencies. In your new role, you will: Analyse intelligence data to identify threats, trends and vulnerabilities. Produce high-quality intelligence products (e.g. assessments, bulletins, strategic reports). Mentor and train new hires and existing centre-based teams in intelligence practices. Build and update intelligence training packages. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address emerging trends. Apply structural analytical techniques and methods. Lead research initiatives to uncover inter-centre and external dynamics. Uphold MTC’s values by promoting safety, respect, and cultural sensitivity To be successful, you will have: Cert IV in Security Operations or equivalent (mandatory). Australian Citizenship and eligibility for security clearance (mandatory). 3+ years tactical or operational intelligence experience (ADF, law enforcement, or national security). Willingness to travel frequently and at short notice (mandatory). Strong grasp of intelligence frameworks and legislation. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and sound judgment. Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain). Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination.
