Bottle Shop Manager

We are seeking a long term relationship with a rare, mythical beast. A bottle shop unicorn looking for your next long term challenge. My Beer Dealer is our independent off‑and‑on premise brand in the Brisbane craft booze industry. We aim to be a leader in our sector by championing small producers – be it wine, beer or spirits. We want to share our knowledge and passion and set a high bar for customer experience. We currently have three unique retail shops (one of which is part wine/beer bar, part bottle shop) and an e‑commerce store. We are looking for a bottle shop manager for our Eagle Junction (Clayfield) store, on a full‑time basis (or would consider permanent part‑time to the right candidate). Your booze experience will be strongest in wine and spirits to complement a strong team in craft beer (we won’t complain if your skillset includes craft beer of course). Amazing customer service will be second nature, you're a proper people person and, love creating relationships with regulars and fostering new ones. Responsibilities Moving stock around (you’ll need a strong core). Playing fridge tetris with an ever‑changing product offering. Maintaining a strong eye for retail display and merchandising. Adding value to the customers experience and our bottom line. Working with our beer, wine and spirit buyers to ensure the store has the most profitable product mix. Working with our POS and other tech tools to ensure smooth processes are adhered to. Managing the productivity of a small team (rostering is not your responsibility). You will be a warm and engaging personality, a multi‑tasker under pressure, experienced in working alone on evening shifts and able to handle yourself with difficult customers when required. You champion process and systems and ensure they are followed carefully. Previous experience in managing a bottle shop is not essential but strongly favoured. You’ll have a banging sense of humour and of course the right to work in Australia, long term. You will have your own vehicle and driver’s licence, as stock transfers will be required at times. You will be required to work weekends and nights. You will enjoy great perks, autonomy, and thrive with the responsibility given. You’ll have 3 + years’ experience in a similar styled bottle shop.
