Dynamic work environment and collaborative team culture Flexibility for balancing work and life commitments Comprehensive learning and growth opportunities The CommunityDrug and Alcohol Withdrawal Nurse will be a valued member of the Albury Community Drug and Alcohol Team to undertake supported withdrawal for individuals with substance dependance wanting to cease and able to do so safely within the community. The role requires comprehensive assessment of the individual identified as being sufficiently stable and having adequate supports to facilitate a home based or Community withdrawal episode. During the episode of care the nurse is working closely with the person’s nominated GP and any other services that are involved ( mental health clinician) to monitor and provide symptomatic treatment for identified withdrawal syndrome. Duties include but are not limited to : Provide current evidence-based interventions to the individual and their support person / s during the treatment episode Provide information to both the individual and their nominated support person / s, developing their treatment plan, including management of withdrawal symptoms, pharmacotherapy regime and introduction of relapse prevention strategies, post withdrawal support and other treatment options Co-ordinate care with other Health Professionals including their GP, providing regular feedback as part of the shared care approach We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity : Currentregistered with AHPRA with at least five years' nursing experience. Demonstrated sound understanding of dependence, signs and symptoms of withdrawal and intoxication for the major drugs of abuse Current driver's license and an ability to travel for work purposes including home visits. Employment Type : This is a fixed term, part-time opportunity working nine days a fortnight with the opportunity for further employment within the drug and alcohol team.
