About the Role: The LGH Perioperative Medicine Registrar is an essential member of the Department of Surgery’s Perioperative Medicine Unit, who provide perioperative care to surgical patients at Launceston General Hospital. Working under the supervision of Perioperative Physicians, you will be engaged in clinical assessment, patient management, and cross-specialty collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment. This role offers a unique opportunity for professionals from anaesthesia, medicine, or intensive care backgrounds to gain specialized experience in perioperative medicine, with the potential for this to be counted towards vocational training. Key Responsibilities: Perform clinical assessments and manage patients within the Perioperative Medicine Unit. Participate in outpatient clinics, ward rounds, and contribute to research and quality assurance initiatives. Collaborate with healthcare teams and oversee residents, with responsibilities including discharge planning and administrative duties. General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Current Working with Children Registration (if applicable). Over 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience in related fields is preferred. Ideal for professionals with backgrounds in anaesthesia, medicine, or ICU, offering opportunities for rotation into different specialties. Details of appointment: Fixed term full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 2 February 2025. Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $134,930 - $189,005 per annum, pro rata+ 12% superannuation+ access to salary packaging Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022 Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria as General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements) Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable: Over 2 years post-graduate clinical experience in related fields Studying for or the possession of the relevant post-graduate qualifications.
