Join us as we contribute to this significant transition in the energy sector About The Team & The Position This Division is a strategic priority for AEMO and will play a critical role in modernising aspects of the organisation to secure and optimise its future. Senior Analyst – Information Security is a vital role responsible for assisting to uplift the information security maturity and capability with the purpose of assessing and protecting the classified information. The incumbent is responsible for assisting in creating and coordinating processes, systems, governance and awareness to ensure that the information that is gathered, stored and utilised is only available to those people who need access to that information. Position Responsibilities Obtains and acts on vulnerability information and conducts security risk assessments, assesses the classification, business impact analysis and accreditation on project information. Monitors the effectiveness, application and compliance of information handling practices to ensure compliance with policies, standards and procedures. Ensures that all potential or identified breaches in security are promptly and thoroughly investigated and that any system changes required to maintain security are implemented. Ensures that security records are accurate and complete and that requests for support are dealt with according to set standards and procedures. Collaborates with Digital and P&C teams to contribute to the development, creation and maintenance of information security policy, standards, procedures, guidelines and documentation. Active participation in Information Security forums, promoting a cross‑AEMO perspective that ensures alignment and collaborative information security efforts across various projects and teams. Collaborates with the HR Protective Security Advisor to assist, where required, with the integrity and security of personnel within the program and ensuring security requirements are in alignment. Ensures protection of official resources from physical threats, implementing comprehensive security measures to safeguard assets, facilities and personnel from unauthorised access. Position Requirements Proven experience in information security in consulting or medium/large organisations. The role ensures the secure handling and storage of information, protecting it from unauthorised access, breaches, or loss. Commercial and pragmatic approach to delivering fit‑for‑purpose information security outcomes. A passion for building and sustaining positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Ability to adapt to change effectively and deal with ambiguity and uncertainty. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and experience in giving presentations, facilitating meetings, and production of effective written communications such as risk reports for senior leaders. Experience with using Power BI and creating reports, resilience and a strong ability to influence across all levels. Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance. Education / Professional Certifications Degree or tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering. Familiarity with PSPF, ISM, Essential 8, SOCI. Information Security qualifications or certifications / or relevant experience.
