Office Accountant, HR & Administration – Software Co (Sydney Office) Software Co is a fast-growing software development and digital ventures company, building world-class technology platforms and powering major innovations across multiple industries. We are seeking a highly capable and organised Office Accountant, HR & Administration professional to lead our financial operations, support HR processes, and ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of our Sydney office. This is a hands‑on, multi‑disciplinary role requiring accuracy, structure, professionalism, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for accounting, HR administration, office support, and executive assistance, playing a critical role in maintaining high standards across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping and Financial Administration Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records, including AP/AR, reconciliations, and weekly financial tracking. Manage the general ledger and ensure the correct recording of all transactions. Process payroll, superannuation, reimbursements, and employee expenses. Support cash‑flow management and financial discipline across the business. Project Accounting Track, analyse, and report project budgets, cost allocation, and forecasted spend. Work closely with project managers to support accurate planning and decision‑making. Compliance and Lodgements Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and other regulatory submissions. Assist with end‑of‑year reporting, audits, and compliance documentation. Provide tax planning guidance to optimise financial outcomes. Keep leadership informed of relevant tax/regulatory changes. Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash‑flow reports. Deliver insights and recommendations to support financial performance and operational efficiency. Strategic Finance Support Collaborate with leadership on financial processes that support growth and scale. Identify and implement operational improvements across finance and administration. HR Administration & People Operations Provide full lifecycle HR support, including recruitment, screening, interviews, contract preparation, and onboarding/offboarding. Maintain HR files, attendance logs, policy updates, and compliance registers. Support employee performance documentation, training coordination, and general HR administration. Assist with culture initiatives, staff communications, and employee engagement activities. Executive Assistant to the Director Manage the Director’s calendar, email inbox, communications, and follow‑ups. Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, briefing notes, and executive reports. Draft internal communications, circulate updates, and maintain clear communication channels. Support prioritisation of key initiatives and ensure timelines, tasks, and deliverables remain on track. Qualifications & Requirements Experience Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial administration. Prior experience in technology, consulting, or software organisations is advantageous. Professional Expertise CA/CPA qualified or near completion preferred. Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory compliance. Technical Skills Proficiency with Xero and the Microsoft Office Suite. Comfortable working with project‑based financial systems and management tools. Soft Skills Exceptional organisational abilities and attention to detail. Strong communication, confidentiality, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Availability Must be available on-site at our Sydney office 5 days per week. Immediate start preferred.
