Role Overview Urban College is a Specialist School organisation offering the VCE – Vocational Major (VCE-VM), and a modified Year 10 program to 14-21 year olds. We provide an inclusive and individually tailored learning environment for students who have disengaged from mainstream education and are seeking a fresh start. With a strong focus on holistic development, student wellbeing, and future pathways, Urban College empowers young people with complex needs to thrive in education and life. Key Responsibilities Support teaching staff in delivering high‑quality, engaging lessons and learning activities that meet diverse student needs. Provide individual and small‑group assistance to students to help them access learning materials and develop essential skills. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging engagement, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging. Collaborate with teachers, wellbeing teams, and other staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Support students’ social and emotional development by modelling positive behaviours and promoting resilience. Contribute to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom and school culture. About You You are passionate about supporting young people who have disengaged from mainstream education. You demonstrate patience, empathy, and adaptability in responding to students’ diverse needs. You have excellent communication and teamwork skills and value collaboration. Experience in education support, youth work, social work or disability support (or relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III/IV in Education Support) will be highly regarded.
