Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub‑acute, mental health, specialist, community and home‑based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. The Role Come and join the Paediatric team at Northern Health, and gain fantastic exposure to General, Specialist and Community Paediatric Medicine in Melbourne’s rapidly growing northern growth corridor. Northern Health provides healthcare to a population of over 580,000 people and in the Paediatric Department we care for general paediatric medical and neonatal patients. This is an exciting opportunity to have a paediatric registrar/fellow to work in an outreach service to the outer Northern suburbs of Melbourne. Clinics will be based predominantly at Mernda Community Hospital . Trainees will have the opportunity to experience a broad range of general and specialist paediatrics under supportive supervision. Clinics will include General Paediatric, Allergy/Immunology, Behavioural & Developmental and Paediatric Respiratory clinics . Non‑clinical time is rostered to allow for education and training, as well weekly opportunity to join the Royal Children’s Hospital Community and Child Health (CCCH) Education program . Applicants should be suitably qualified to perform at the level of a senior paediatric registrar. Unaccredited paediatric registrars and GP trainees are invited to apply. Applicants will care for a wide variety of culturally and linguistically diverse communities, with a high proportion of socio‑economically disadvantaged families. Excellent communication skills are essential. Preference will be given to applicants who are second or third year advanced trainees in general paediatrics, and those with a particular interest in working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Applicants must be currently registered with AHPRA and hold medical indemnity insurance.
