Temp Principal Engineer

Temporary full-time position in a great location, until 30/06/2027 with possibility of extension. Flexible working conditions and ongoing opportunities for training and career development. Be involved in one of TMR's largest transport infrastructure programs including the Mooloolah River Interchange (MRI) project. Key Responsibilities Provide effective leadership to project managers delivering infrastructure projects. Provide reports on the progress of works and actual and forecast expenditure. Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the program of works you will be responsible for and determine changes to processes with a view to obtaining continuous improvements in efficiency, productivity and setting strategies. Ensure performance management systems are in place and effective in supporting the delivery of the program of works and individual projects within the program. Provide expert advice and guidance on contractual issues and contract performance. Ensure the application of all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and quality of outcomes is maintained with respect to all phases of project delivery of road infrastructure projects on the works program. Act as "Representative of the Principal" for the delivery of contracts as defined and delegated at respective development/implementation project phases. Mandatory Qualifications And Conditions Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. A Washington Accord accredited four‑year degree in Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia. Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position. Construction Industry "White Card". Has extensive experience in managing road construction projects including contract administration and representing a road authority on the project. Applies project management principles and methodology to achieve project outcomes. Desirable: Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP). Desirable: Previous experience working with the Department of Transport and Main Roads will be highly regarded. Desirable: Traffic Management Design (TMD) open qualification.
