The Role - Senior Process Engineer We’re seeking a talented Senior Process Engineer to join our Process Engineering Group - to help meet growing demand, while actively contributing to business growth. Reporting to the Group Lead, you’ll deliver engineering solutions by working closely with clients, managing projects from start to finish, and ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance and commercial success. Beyond project delivery, you’ll play a vital role in business development, risk management, and continuous improvement—while being recognised for your contributions and supported in your professional growth. Responsibilities Ensure projects are delivered to a high technical standard in accordance with legislative requirements, relevant standards, client expectations and Advitech’s IMS. Evaluate projects for risk and profitability, ensuring client T&Cs are acceptable prior to preparing an accurate and concise cost estimate or proposal. Undertake and participate in technical appraisals, reviews and project audits. Manage project budgets, resources, revenue and profitability. Support the Group leadership to achieve financial targets including reporting on workloads and providing input for monthly project performance reviews. Support business development, quality, performance and staff development strategies. Undertake and support continuous professional development of self and team members. Communicate effectively with leadership team, colleagues, customers and key stakeholders, including translating complex engineering into simple language. Manage relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities to grow our business, target strategic opportunities and win new projects. To be successful in this role, you will meet the following essential criteria: Degree qualification in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental or Process), recognised by Engineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) Certifications relevant to professional Process Engineering consulting practice. At least 7 years experience in a similar role, or proven capability at a senior level. Demonstrated ability to produce and/or contribute to technical outputs to industry-best standards. Good project management skills including budget, risk management and reporting, and the ability to manage conflicting priorities whilst delivering on key milestones and deadlines. Proven track record in delivering process engineering projects to a high technical standard, with adherence to engineering principles, legal requirements and industry standards. Demonstrated ability to plan and lead technical conversations and the design and development of Chemical/Environmental/Process processes and systems. Proficient in MS Office and relevant process engineering analytical software and reporting systems. Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and positively within a close team environment. Current unrestricted drivers licence (motor vehicle) Process Engineers meeting the following desirable criteria will be considered favourably: Relevant process engineering experience in chemical processing industry or manufacturing. Demonstrated experience in undertaking hazardous area classification and formal Australian or IECEx competency attainment such as UEENEE015B, UEENEE071B, UEENEEM052A, UEENEEM053A, or IECEx Ex000, IECEx, or Ex002. Demonstrated experience and formal training competencies in facilitating process safety related risk assessment (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, Bowties). Demonstrated experience in calculating or performing quantitative assessment in areas such as source of release, gas dispersion etc. Experience in process engineering design and software modelling.
