Epilepsy Experience Preferred Our agency is currently recruiting an exceptionally capable and calm nanny for a professional family in Ashburton, caring for three young girls, including one child with epilepsy. This is a long‑term, stable role suited to a highly experienced childcare professional who is confident, organised, and able to manage a busy household rhythm with sensitivity and initiative. Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm Wednesday & Friday plus 6.30pm to 10.30pm every third Saturday evening Key Responsibilities Provide high‑quality, attentive care for three children Create a calm, predictable environment which is particularly important for the child with epilepsy Plan and initiate engaging, developmentally appropriate activities Support the children’s learning, interests, and individual goals Manage after‑school routines, transitions, and sibling dynamics Maintain strong organisation and multitasking ability across daily tasks Attend weekly therapy sessions with the child once trained Communicate therapy progress and integrate goals into home routines Complete relevant training in epilepsy management and emergency medication administration Candidate Requirements This role is not suitable for junior or inexperienced candidates . Extensive nannying or childcare experience (particularly with multiple children) A calm, composed demeanour, especially in higher‑pressure situations Experience or willingness to upskill in supporting a child with epilepsy A gentle, empathetic, and emotionally attuned approach Strong organisational and multitasking skills Initiative and a proactive mindset to plan ahead and keep children engaged Excellent communication skills and confidence providing feedback after therapy sessions A genuine interest in children’s development, routines, and personal goals Training in epilepsy management will be arranged, and confidence in applying this training is essential.
