You’ll also drive service improvements and mentor emerging professionals. Deliver high‑level genetic counselling for complex cases with minimal supervision Coordinate and participate in specialised genetic clinics across WSLHD Support and train genetic counselling students and junior staff Develop educational programs for health professionals and community groups Contribute to research and continuous improvement initiatives How to Apply Apply online by submitting your resume, and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date. Essential Requirements Qualification: Relevant undergraduate qualification, with significant experience in genetic counselling and/or a post graduate qualification in genetic counselling, in addition to having attained certification in genetic counselling, at least to the level of ‘part 1’, from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia. Registration: Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA) Board Eligible as a Genetic Counsellor (previously known as Part 1 certification). Other Requirements Understand and practice person centred care. Participate in quality improvement activities. Work in partnership with consumers on improving and evaluating the delivery of services. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of near or actual incidents or patient safety concerns. You must take all reasonable care for yourself and others and comply with any reasonable instruction, policies and procedures relating to work health safety and wellbeing. Risk Management – Staff should actively identify, communicate and elevate risks and understand their responsibility to manage risk in their day‑to‑day roles. Selection Criteria Attained Board Eligible status in Genetic Counselling by the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA) Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills Proven ability to work autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision as well as effectively as part of a team Commitment to continue training in genetic counselling towards completion of Board Certification through the HGSA (if not already completed) Participation in both group and individual counselling supervision sessions Extensive specialist knowledge within advanced practice skills and advanced reasoning skills.
