Enterprise and Data Governance Manager

A large QLD Government organisation is seeking an experienced Enterprise and Data Governance Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of information and data assets across the business. This role plays a critical part in uplifting enterprise governance, strengthening compliance, and enabling data driven decision making as the organisation advances its digital and AI capabilities. In this position, you will oversee information governance, records lifecycle management, enterprise data policies, and the development of frameworks that support responsible data use, privacy obligations, and cross departmental integration. This is a genuine leadership opportunity within a high performing ICT and Information Services environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead enterprise wide information and data governance initiatives, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain data governance policies, frameworks, and procedures supporting information management and responsible AI adoption. Oversee records lifecycle management, retention schedules, legal holds, and audit readiness. Manage physical and digital archives and ensure secure, compliant, and accessible storage of records. Support data quality uplift, master data management, and consistent data practices across systems. Provide guidance to data owners, stewards, and custodians, including the delivery of training and governance support. Champion digital transformation by enabling new technologies and improving information handling processes. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive governance maturity and enhance the value of organisational data assets. IDEAL CANDIDATE Tertiary qualifications in information management, data governance, records management, or a related field. Strong experience in enterprise information governance, data governance, or records management within large organisations. Demonstrated ability to develop policies, frameworks, and regulatory compliance processes. Strong communication and leadership capability with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders. Background in digital transformation, data quality, or cross departmental data integration will be highly regarded.
