Indie School Gosford is seeking a full‑time Cook to provide nutritious meals to our students. Indie School provides students the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment using individualised learning and education plans, tailored to each student's own education and life circumstances. Smaller class sizes allow students greater opportunity to identify their strengths and work to improve areas in which they lack confidence. The greatest difference between Indie School and many other alternative education settings is that our foundations lie in Adult Education philosophies. Choice, independence, mutual respect and accountability all have a significant role to play. In return for higher levels of self‑responsibility, the students can enjoy some greater freedoms. Core Workplace Objectives Budget and purchase food for daily lunches. Create a nutritious menu for lunches. Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination. Workplace Tasking & Key Responsibilities Budget and purchasing food to create meals for approximately 60-70 people each day. Creating a healthy nutritious menu to support the learning of students. Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues. Preserve and store food and ingredients in appropriate temperature‑controlled facilities. Stock management and waste minimisation. Ensuring all Food Safety and OH&S compliance is achieved. Clean kitchen and equipment. Excellent planning and skills and the ability to think on your feet.
