Geologist - Senior Consultant

The Opportunity We are seeking a highly capable and commercially astute Senior Consultant Geologist to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an autonomous, self-driven professional who can independently plan, manage, and execute geological projects while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering consistently high technical standards. You will be responsible for managing your own workload, allocating resources in advance, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget. This is a role for someone who excels in consulting environments, has a broad industry network and is confident engaging directly with clients. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage projects from scoping through to delivery, with full accountability for timelines, budgets, and client communication. Interpret geological, geochemical, structural, and geophysical datasets, providing clear and actionable advice. Develop and review 3D geological models and contribute to mineral resource estimations in accordance with recognised reporting codes (JORC, NI 43-101, etc.). Demonstrate strong commercial awareness to ensure projects are cost-effective, value-driven, and aligned with client needs. Plan work in advance, allocate resources, schedule deliverables, and track progress using structured project-management approaches. Identify and execute business development opportunities to support the company’s commercial growth. Build and maintain long-term client relationships through consistent delivery and trusted advisory support. Mentor junior geologists, supporting their technical and professional development. Conduct fieldwork, site visits, and client engagements as required. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline. Minimum of 7 years’ experience in exploration/mining geology, including experience in a consulting or client-facing role (essential). Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of project profitability, client and market expectations. Proficiency in geological modelling and resource evaluation software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine, Datamine, Vulcan). Strong computing and software literacy (Google Workspace, QGIS, ioGAS, AI platforms). Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to produce concise, impactful reports.
