About Us Since forming in 2019, we’ve grown from a team of two on the Gold Coast, QLD, to many, and we are now expanding our services into the Newcastle region. We are a disability support organisation providing mentoring, group activities, and respite services. Our team values connection, consistency, and encouraging clients to explore their passions. About The Opportunity This opportunity offers more than just a casual support role, it’s a chance to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. As a support worker/mentor with Adventure Team, you will work closely with our participants to build confidence, independence, and daily routines. You’ll also have the chance to explore hobbies and interests together, supporting learning, problem-solving, and skill development in a hands‑on, engaging way. This role includes a shift every Monday, plus one additional weekday per fortnight. We’re Looking For Someone Who Is Caring and reliable – able to form a positive, consistent connection with the participant Patient and calm – able to support someone in a reassuring, structured, and engaging way Adaptable and proactive – able to respond to changing needs, take initiative, and problem‑solve in practical situations Encouraging and curious – willing to support and explore new interests, including chess, coding, or other hands‑on learning Mechanically minded or practical – comfortable with simple mechanical tasks or hands‑on activities You Will Support The Participant With Daily living and routines Community access and social participation Engaging in hobbies, learning new skills, and exploring interests such as chess, coding, or mechanical projects Providing reliable, person‑centred support that builds independence and confidence This is a role for someone who enjoys making a difference in a meaningful, hands‑on way, and who values the opportunity to support someone to grow and thrive. Positions are casual, offering $32–$45 p/h (+ super) depending on experience.
