About the Role We’re looking for enthusiastic and capable Crew Members to join our team aboard our new multi‑use tourism vessel operating around Magnetic Island. This is a hands‑on customer‑facing role where you’ll assist in the safe operation of guided boat tours, private charters, and reef trips. Crew members play a vital part in delivering a premium guest experience — assisting with safety briefings, providing commentary, helping with snorkeling activities, and engaging with guests throughout the journey to ensure every moment on board is enjoyable and memorable. Key Responsibilities Assist the skipper in the safe operation of the vessel, including mooring, docking, anchoring, and guest transfers. Deliver and support guest safety briefings and ensure all passengers are briefed on emergency procedures. Maintain continuous guest engagement, providing friendly conversation, assistance, and interpretation about the local area, marine life, and Magnetic Island’s history. Assist in snorkeling activities, including guest supervision, safety checks, and equipment setup. Support guided island walks and help facilitate educational or interpretive content as part of the tour. Uphold the highest standards of customer service, presentation, and professionalism. Conduct basic vessel cleaning, equipment checks, and ensure all safety and snorkeling gear is maintained and stored correctly. Support crew and skipper in managing onboard logistics and responding to guest needs promptly and professionally. Skills & Experience Previous experience in marine tourism, charter, or adventure‑based roles highly regarded. Confidence in guest interaction and strong communication skills. Physically fit, comfortable working outdoors and in marine environments. Knowledge of snorkeling safety, first aid, or marine guiding (desirable but not essential). Boat licence, coxswain qualification, or marine industry experience advantageous. Personal Attributes Friendly, energetic, and confident engaging with diverse groups of people.
