Senior Quantity Surveyor – Seascale Recruit4staff are representing a well‑established civil engineering business in their search for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work in Seascale . Hours of Work: Full Time, Monday to Friday, Days (45 hours) Duration: Permanent Job Details Pay: £55,000 – £70,000 (Car Allowance £5,750) Hours of Work: Full Time, Monday to Friday, Days (45 hours) Duration: Permanent Benefits: 8% employer pension contribution, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Job Role As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for managing the financial performance of major civil engineering and infrastructure works. You will oversee cost management, contract administration, change control, and commercial reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget, and in full compliance with contractual requirements. You will work closely with project managers, engineering teams, planners, procurement, and the wider commercial department to ensure accurate forecasting, timely valuations, and robust contract management. This role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to provide clear commercial leadership across multiple work packages. You will be responsible for managing subcontractor accounts, preparing and reviewing payment applications, assessing variations, undertaking cost/value reconciliations, and ensuring that commercial risks are identified, monitored and controlled. Strong communication, attention to detail, and an ability to operate within a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment are essential. This position suits an experienced commercial professional with a proven track record in large‑scale civil engineering or infrastructure delivery.
